I installed Windows2000,consequently my cd drive is ruined,it say i/o device error when i want to access it?

If your compact disc is connect to Primary Sleeve IDE, please try swap to Secondary Master or Secondary Sleeve IDE
Normally, each motherboard hold 4 IDE channel (cable)

just check next to ur IDE cable .. the causes may be cable loose or the cable might gone ................ it will not own any problem with the motherboard

This is possibly a driver error.
Check with the manufacturer web site to see if nearby is a driver for Windows 2000, download it and install through control panel.
