I think this will give support to you with you problem, I've found the Primax trellis page it's www.primax.nl/surpport.html
Hope this helps
Best of luck, I tried one and the same. You apparently get it to work using window 2000 driver. However you need to do some geek type wizardry. It be to clever for me.
Id bin it and get a trial one that will just plug and play.
I get a colarado usb 9600 scanner - I spent hours trying to get it to work next to xp but gave up. The drivers for these scanners lately do not work with xp. Buy a investigational one (I did)
I've just done a explore for drivers for your scanner at http://www.driverguide.com to find that the latest newspaper of Windows that this scanner is supported by is Windows 98. (This driver, apparently, worked with Windows ME too.) There are no drivers for Windows 2000 as someone closer suggested, and the link offered (www.primax.nl) is no longer available.
The closest I come was a driver for the IBM Ideascan2000 which, apparently, does support your scanner near both Windows XP Home and Windows XP Pro.
To download the driver, you'll have to login to http://www.driverguide.com and register. (It's free, and you'll see that they are brilliant for obtain drivers for loads of devices.)
Simply do a search for Primax Colorado USB 19200, and click Windows XP for the operating system.
There are 2 entries for indistinguishable driver, where you can read somewhat more about it. Sadly, the interconnect states that they were obtain from www.primax.nl/sup_col_usb19200... which is no longer available.
I found the first entry actually attempts to direct you to www.primax.nl. The second one, however, allowed me to download the profile. I've scanned the download for viruses/spyware/malware, etc. and found it to be free.
I hope it help you.
Suspicious! I have a "Packard Bell" scanner....but, looking at the files the installation created, it be obvious the it be a "Mustek" scanner, contacted Mustek, great service ...just perchance this scanner is a rebadge?

try the software within Windows: Imaging. *To access this, click on the Start button, run up to Programs, from there across to Accessories and after to Imaging. Click on File along the top and go down to Select Scanner. Choose your scanner and click OK. Click on File again and this time travel down to Scan New. The scan dialogue box should appear enabling you to select the settings and commence to scan.

If you have a program close to paintshop, omnipage, or similar, you should be able to scan from those programs
You are trying to run 16 bit software on window xp home which is 32 bit, and 64 bit for xp pro. I kept an old program from a flatbed scanner, but will necessitate a couple days to find them, it may be 32 bit I'm not sure at the moment though. All in one scanner printers are the route to go presently and are very plausible priced nowadays!
