How to upload scan barcodes into Microsoft Excel?

I am scan barcodes from a portable device (SPT 1700) w/ palm software using a serial cable. This serial cable is connected to a laptop. The laptop does not have the HotSync application.
IS THERE A RELIABLE SOURCE I MAY DOWNLOAD HotSync copy 4.0????

To my knowledge, Excel have the option to introduction data from any profile. I have already created the spreadsheet for this project.

You should be able to simply scan the barcodes directly into Excel. Mostly every barcode scanner works with Excel. Just click surrounded by the cell where you want the numbers to move about and scan the barcode.
