i own scanned a couple of photos and i cant go and get them to have colour they r adjectives coming out black + white, any help

Sounds similar to a settings issue. You don't mention what software you are using to manage the scanner, but anything you are using, open it and look for an option menu. You should be able to find something contained by there to indicate you want color scan.
