Scanner Question?

I am trying to label a copy of a poor quality digital b/w photo. I scan the photo @ 2400dpi, but when I try to send it to 'MGI photosuite' as a jpeg I catch a message saying "one or more of my devices can not touch that high of resolution." The matchless dpi I can send to 'MGI' is 600 and I carry the "moire effect" as if I were using a halftone blind in conventional compensate printing. The effect decreases, the smaller number dpi I scan it, but by then the picture is pixelated and unusable. I one and only need a 3.5 X 5 print. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG! Give me an old-fashioned enlarger, a few trays of chemistry and a sink any day!!! I imagine digital photography sucks.

Answer:
I would guess that the image isnt massively hi res in the first place. You might try paint or imaging within accessories to scene it and see what it looks like. If you seriously wnat to dress it up, click my given name and sent the pic to me. I wont gaurantee I can do anything but I have some fatty duty image editing software.
For working from a photo resembling you describe, I quite agree.

For your computer however; since your scanner can run at 2400, I suggest you attain a program that can make use of adjectives that resolution. Be sure however that that is "direct" resolution and NOT "interpreted" resolution which uses digital "enhancement"; ESPECIALLY for copying photographs. While this improvement works for some things, It does not work well for others. (Check your scanner encyclopaedia for the specifications.)
