Answer:
you can receive pretty cheap HP for like $70 or so explicitly pretty good... Epson I dont know I don`t know 15 yrs ago I would of gone with an epson but I havent used a epson since I have a 486 processor..
I've got an Epson 1250 scanner and it's be a real trooper. The problem near all-in-ones is that if say the printer breaks, you've get to throw away the entire thing or settle too much to get it fixed. I'd a bit have the components seperate so if something breaks or become obsolete, I can chuck it and verbs.
I have a HP 3-in-1 and my biggest problem next to it is getting it to feed weekly properly. Sometimes it takes several at a time and other times it tell me its out of paper when I know I'm not. Otherwise it does everything else in recent times fine. I also have XP home.
Just don't consent to your family know you own a printer, otherwise you'll be like me; any printing out pictures or other stuff. LOL
I just purchase a latest HP Deskjet F380 for an unbeleivably low price (about $80) and I love it.
I used to be an Epson in-store representative and I've been a PC tech for over 15 years. I would never buy an Epson again because of too masses strikes against them in former times. I had one Epson simply stop printing after nearly three years simply because Epson decided to include code within their chips that would lock up the printer and issue a bogus "printer need service" error (the singular one that could reset the bogus error would be an authorized Epson service center (and that "repair" would cost more than the printer is worth! Also, most printer manufacturers include ink cartriges beside a little smaller amount ink in their brand untried printers (hence the low initial price for the printer), but it seems to me that Epson fill their bundled ink cartriges half or smaller quantity full (meaning you will be buying expensive ink carts for your brand strange Epson printer way too in haste (lining the pockets of Epson Corp.)
If given a choice -- here is the best-to-worst list I come up with:
1) HP
2) Cannon
3) Epson (reluctantly)
4) Lexmark (Ewwww... a REAL cheap-o piece of unwanted items.)
5) all the others.
I'm also using XP Home Edition and I'm also using HP All-in-one (printer, copier and scanner). The model is PSC 1410 and it is serving me fine. If you're not a demanding character it should be okay. It's better to use good aspect paper though. .. I cogitate there are lots new models available in a minute.
