Old skool scanner?
Answer:
Wow, thats a warden. I've got some dated equipment as well but none surrounded by the way of printers or scanners. I did a moment or two looking and found a lot of potential solutions. The brochure for your item mentions use of the parallel port as a connection, but you say-so that it is not the same as a printer plug? So I'm not sure if these will give a hand or not, but that is for you to agree on.
Here is a bunch of USB to parallel converters.

If those don't help, post more information approaching how many pins are near on the plug, info on the cable labeling, or maybe some info on a sticky label next to the nouns on the scanner.
Wal-Mart or Target might have something depending on how big the store is, but I doubt it. You might own better luck at a somewhat dedicated computer store resembling circuit city, compusa, or best buy.
Here to help or try to.
U can win USB to parallel cables, however here is NO guarantee there will be drivers for the scanner for current window versions, and also no guarantee it will work through a USB-Parallel cable.
Be cheaper to buy a bright scanner, if you were nere here (South West norway) I'd trade ya my old USB one cheap . . .
