Virus problem?
I have tried avg but no luck.

All the above answers are good, i prefer SpyBot along near the Microsoft malicious tool remover.
Also sort sure you run Microsoft (windows) Update and consider upgrading to something other than Me soon. When Vista comes out within a month or so, XP prices will probably go on Dutch auction as retailers want to unload their supply. Consider grabbing one of those.
