Epson CX3180 Scanner Problem?

I enjoy an Epson CX3180 all within one flatbed printer/scanner/copier. My computer's hard drive crashed a few weeks ago. Before it crashed my printer and scanner worked without a flaw. I just get my computer back and re-installed adjectives of the drivers for the printer and scanner from epson's website (I have Windows XP). The printer module works, but when I go to scan something the error "EPSON SCAN CANNOT BE STARTED. PLEASE USE THE TROUBLESHOOTING ASSISTANT TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM." Unfortunately, the troubleshooting merely tells me to craft sure the unit is on and that it is plugged into my USB. I am positive this is not the error because I am competent to print. Does anyone have any suggestions to how I can seize this working again?

Thank you!

Answer:
The only entity you can do is contact Epson and explain what happened. It is probably a problem next to the scanners built in software.
