Answer:
To much missing info:
Was something wrong beside your PC?
What did you download and from who? What Date and Time?
Is there anything wrong very soon?
Do you have some class of Virus/Spyware software like Norton or Mcafee? If yes run a scan.
Have you tried a restore?
Find someone that understand this:
System Restore is a great feature within Windows XP. You can use System Restore to remove any troublesome system changes made since the ending time you created a Restore Point.
But to start System Restore normally, you have need of to be able to start Windows XP typically or at least contained by Safe Mode. But what if the problem is so bad that Windows does not even start within the Safe Mode. Well, there is a passageway to launch System Restore from a command prompt. Here is how to do it.
Restart your computer and press [F8] during the initial startup.
When you see the Windows Advanced Options Menu, select the Safe Mode with a Command Prompt resort.
Log on to your computer with an administrator explanation or with an explanation that has administrator credentials.
Type the following command at a command prompt:
C:\windows\system32\restore\rs...
Don't do anything you are not comfortable next to!!!!!!!!

ok ill inform u go to download . com and download a trial of norton or anything. yur comp shouldve come w/ a firewall and stuff and free scanner.
This "scanner" itself may be spyware, trying to gain you to buy something that you don't need.
What is the entitle of this "Scanner", if it asks you to buy a program so you can fix the "errors", then it might be spyware itself.
If it is call WinFixer, WinAntiVirus, WinAntiVirusPro, ErrorSafe, SystemDoctor, WinAntiSpyware, ErrorProtector, SystemDoctor, SysProtect, PrivacyProtector, DriveCleaner, ECsecured or something similar then it is definately spyware.
If you consider that you have errors, use Error-Checking by going to My Computer and right click on your "C:\ local drive" select the "Tools" tab and click the Error Check button. Also download, update and run: AVG Free, Spy-bot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware, and Windows Defender. Re-run them surrounded by "Safe Mode" by repeatedly pressing the "F8" key BEFORE Windows XP logo shows up on your peak and then select "Safe Mode short networking" by using the arrow keys to put emphasis on that choice and then hit the return knob.
