Scanner software?!! HELP PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE?

hello ppl... i own a (crappy) packard bell scanner that has an even crappier prgram installed on my notebook - its called PANEL or something
I DONT KNOW WHERE THE NORMAL SCANNER SOFTWARE HAS GONE> THE ONE THAT USED TO COME AUTOMATICALLY WITH THE PC!..... as soon as i connected the scanner. I hold searched for it isnt here
IS THERE NE WAY I CAN DOWNLOAD the normal scanner software? and from where on earth?

I have one of these scanners, a few years ago, had alike problems as yourself, tried downloading drivers, no joy. I aged 10 years contained by a fortnight, my hair go grey, enough be enough....As roadworks be being carried out, outside my house, i wait till the steamroller came ratification by, then i chucked it underneath the main controls... now the scanner is no more.. I agree wholeheartedly beside you Packed bell products are crap...Hope this helps you touch better. Dave B
It would be more helpful if you could provide the scanner model, however you could try to install the untested driver from either of these websites:

Go to --start--control panel--system--hardware--devic... manager--imaging devices-- check status of drivers--or click drivers and update or roll back and you might hold to work around it from there.
What do you expect by "normal scanner software?"

If you're talking roughly speaking drivers, you've already been given a few sites to check.

If you're conversation about graphics packages, frequent of them will allow scanning from them. You simply enjoy to indicate the Twain device (scanner) that's connected to your computer. (You may find it under File > Import.)

If you're discussion about scan a document, so that you can edit it surrounded by a word processor, you'll need OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software. There's a free one available from the following site. Obviously, because it's free, it won't be as comprehensive as some of the large weight packages. Give it a try anyway.
