Vista can switch most products you just inevitability to get the driver for your product past its sell-by date of the companies website, just do a survey for the brand and product and you shoud find it in a google prod then progress to support and drivers and go to the product and follow instructions. If you hold the latest and their is no plan on updating the firmware for your product it is best to buy a up to date one.
Vista should be able to feel just roughly speaking anything. If your scanner is USB connected, try uninstalling it, restart, then reinstalling.

Don't go out and buy a scanner unless you are sure it will not work beside Vista. I had impossible to tell apart problem with mine.
Try scan from the Paint program that can be found in the accesories folder.
Open the Paint program and click profile. Be sure you plug in, hook up, and turn on your scanner past you do this. When you click file, you should see " From Scanner or Camera " timetabled in the menu.
Click on that and you should be capable of import things that you scan.
I hold an HP scanner, faxer, and copier and I got completely upset when it would not work with Vista, so when I contacted HP that's when the technician told me to do and it works, but the really nice scan and editing software that came near the scanner is not compatible with Vista, so I am stuck using paint.
