Why is my Scanner,model 2400 not compatible beside Microsoft Vista?

I purchased a Hewlett Packard scanner model 2400 contained by September 2006,I have presently purchased new computer to be exact running on Microsoft Vista,I have be informed that my scanner is incompatible,how can I remedy this without have to buy new scanner?

look if a vista driver is available otherwise continue for sometime.
I had a similar problem.Go to HP website and download a vista driver for it.
