Downloaded driver for scanner STILL NOT WORKING!?

I merely downloaded a driver for my new hp scanjet 2200c and whenever i click the HP PRECISION SCAN LTX god it always sez:
SCANNER NOT FOUND when the scanner is connected to my usb port.

WTF IS WRONG?

Answer:
1. uninstall driver, unplug the usb cable but go off the scanner power on
2. go to Start, Control panel, System, Hardware tab, device bureaucrat button, look down the list, see if anything that branch out near a yellow exclaimation mark/red circle prohibit discoloration, if yes, highlight it and hit delete button on your baby grand and click ok to delete that problem entry.
3. restart pc, install the driver ( http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/manual/bps... ) Note: it is crucial to install software until that time connecting pc to scanner
4. once installation of driver/software done, plug contained by the usb cable, Xp will do the rest.

is your scanner turned on?
is your scanner's ac adapter plugged contained by properly? check that first. then see if the ac adapter is connect to the scanner. after it should work. if not return or exchange it at the store.
uninstall device and drivers
unplug scanner
reboot
plug scanner within
turn it on
reinstall drivers

Make sure the drivers are for the correct scanner model and also the correct operating system
