A scanner specifically compatable near window vista..?

I own a Packard Bell PC Windows Vista Home Basic.
I need a scanner specifically compatable,I have asked on strip and stores in my locality but to no avail..Is in attendance anyone who can direct me to a store where i can buy one!.There isn't a driver avaible on flash and no upgrade for it,Tried scanning from Paint too zilch works.The scanner i have is an ARTEC48+
