Problem next to cast-off Mustek 1200 UB scanner?
I also downloaded software from Mustek but this consists of 5 files and I can only get by to install the first one.
Any suggestions ?

Have a look at the following url and try redownloading the driver for your scanner.
To be frank, I don't know how you've only manage to install the first of five files as the first one automatically calls up the other four within sequence.

yes get a trial scanner. this one has out lived it's usefulness. & is more headache thanit is worth.
had same probs next to mustek downloaded driver still didnt work would rec buy up to date one
i had one of these scanners they dont similar to service pack 2 the amount of messing about it take to install and delete drivers its not really worth the hastle as they still dont work 100% of the time there is give a hand on the packard bell forum for this problem people enjoy put step by step instructions on how to do it but honestly its not worth the hastle
I had this scanner from unknown with an ME system and when I get a new PC near XP I had exactly like problems as you had and tried three or four times to capture it to work. I gave up and bought a combined scanner / printer. Sorry but I thought mine have just jam-packed up but I guess it is a problem with lots of relatives.
