Why is my scanner not bieng reconised? Just motto usb device have malfunction?

Answer:
There are several possibilities. I'll arrange them within order of prospect:

1. Perhaps your USB cable is defective. Try a different USB cable.

2. Perhaps the USB port on your computer to which you are trying to connect the scanner has a problem. Try a different USB port. If you own no other USB ports on your computer, see suggestion 4 below for options.

3. You may own a USB driver problem. Find out what kind of USB port you hold (from the Device Manager) and see if there is a driver download available for it. For example, if your USB ports are using a VIA chipset, you can seize the latest drivers here: http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?pag...

4. Your scanner may be a USB 2.0-only device, and your computer have only USB 1.1 ports. In this travel case, you have two ways to try to work around this:

a) buy a USB 2.0 adapter card, install it contained by your computer and connect the scanner to one of its ports.

b) buy a USB 2.0 hub that comes with its own power supply, connect it to the USB port on your computer, and connect the scanner to one of its ports.

Note that if your computer have only USB 1.1 ports, and you use remedy b), your scanner will perform markedly slowly.

5. Perhaps the scanner itself is defective. Try using it on another computer. If it still doesn't work then you involve to get it serviced or replaced.

6. Your scanner requires more power than the USB port on your computer can supply. In this shield, your options are matching as for suggestion 4.

7. The sum total of all your devices (including the scanner) require more power than your computer's power supply can supply. As a rule of thumb, if you computer's power supply is underneath 300W, you should replace it with one of impossible to tell apart type that can supply at least 300W. If this turns out to be the problem, I notably recommend that you let a professional do this for you.
IF YOUR CONNECTING IT TO YOUR COMPUTER WITH A HI-SPEED 2.0 USB AND YOUR COMPUTER/LAPTOP ONLY HAS 1.0 SPEED PORTS IT WILL NOT CONNECT PROPERLY.
SOLUTION: CHANGE YOUR USB DRIVES TO 2.0 HI-SPEED AND THEN CONNECT AGAIN.
OR OF COURSE IT COULD BE A FAULTY USB PORT OR A FAULTY CABLE.
HOPE THIS HELPS!
