My epson scanner wont unstop up and is not detected what do i do?

i want to scan my pictures on to the computer but the computer isnt detecting i enjoy a scanner.

Answers:
Check or replace the cable going to the scanner,try uninstalling it and re installing the driver if that still does not fix the problem go to epson and try downloading an updated driver.when you right to be heard it will not open, are you chitchat about the lid,if so within may be a switch on the side or bottom that will unlock the lid.
