Help! What is wrong beside my scanner?
Answer:
Uninstall the scanners drivers and after reinstall them. Also make sure the scan device isn't locked in position.
Nothing is wrong next to the scanner, its you that has a problem.
The route to fix it: Throw away the scanner or jump stale a high building.

First try to scan a document using Windows Xp WIA scan feature.
Open Scanners and cameras from control panel -- Double click on the printer statue. if you are able to scan the document using WIA software, check the scanner port settings and printer port settings. These settings should be same. You can download the Fix scan utility from HP website to fix this issue.
