How would you scan a weekly photo in need getting so much pellet?

I hold a flatbed scanner and I need to scan a photo from a broadsheet.

It's coming out incredibly grainy.

Is in attendance any way to reproduce the photo short so much grain?

Answers:
I am not sure if you enjoy set your scanner to the highest possible resolution during your scan.

If the resolution of the scanner doesn't assist you much, you need to use Photoshop to gross the scan more 'smooth'.
Just a thought... Have you tried going to the newspaper's website to download the picture directly? My boss asks me to scan newspaper clippings adjectives the time, but I just engineer a pdf of the article off the website instead. It save a ton of time.
There are filters for Photoshop that can give somebody a lift care of it (somewhat, anyway), but you're never going to return with a perfect copy by scan.

If you have a digital camera that can engineer very large quality pictures, you might try that. I've have good results past.
