I am alarmed of Ccleaner. Is this an irrational foreboding?

Back within October 2004 I download the C(rap) cleaner program from download.com. When I opened it to run it it corrupted a essential file on my computer. I be on the interwebs when i happened, but adjectives the icons and stuff from the start menu disappeared. I couldn't steal it anywhere to get it fixed, and concluded up buying a new one. That moved out me 2 months interwebz less. It be horrible.

I've been reading on here, and lots of inhabitants use that program to scan their computers. Do you think like peas in a pod thing will begin if i try to down load it again?

p.s. Last time I didn't hold any virus/adaware scanners on my computer. I know, dumb move.

Or will I be ok with what I hold:
adaware se personal
avast anti virus
macafee virus (out of date and I don't use it)

Answer:
CCleaner is an excellent free program that will help you verbs up unnecessary files from you PC, and also clean up your registry to offer a slight boost to your computer's speed. I cannot speak for the version you be using, but I can say that they continually release hot versions of this program to augment its efficiency and stability.

It sounds as if when you used the program a few years ago, it delete a critical file surrounded by Windows, which caused Windows to not operate correctly. I'm sorry that you replaced the entire system for this, because possible all you would hold needed to fix this is to reinstall Windows, and possibly even just run System Restore.

As for the virus/spyware concern. CCleaner does not address any of these issues. It cleans your Recycle Bin, your temp files, etc. It also cleans your registry of outdated data. You obligation at least one spyware program and an antivirus program. The two that you mention you are using (Ad Aware and Avast AV) are great programs. Keep them up to date and they will serve you capably. I would recommend one additional spyware program. You can undamagingly run multiple antispyware programs, but it is not a good belief to run more than one antivirus program. You may want to consider downloading Spybot Search & Destroy from download.com. This is also a free program, and between the two, you should be able to maintain spyware off of your system.

You do not obligation to fear CCleaner, though. If you are suspicious about something it suggests delete, just don't delete it, but the program is much enhanced.
no it wont happen again...very soon ccleaner has developed a stable altered copy and many ppl including me r using it.that time it must be beta
Remove mcaffe. Email me for instuctions on how because it will come to blows you. Ccleaner isn't going to hurt you but you can run disk cleanup (Start, accesories, system tools.) It does the same article. Also go to housecall.trendmicro.com to do an online scan
Try something else

http://www.regsofts.com/
http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniart...

But one of the most high-status things to do prior to using any registry type of software is to make sure you hold a backup of all your files, and/or own a restore point set
my advice is would be to completely uninstall mcafee if your not using it and since you do hold a free, reliable alternative. I would also add Spybot Search & Destroy to the chronicle of adware/spyware programs you use. Getting CCleaner now shouldn't be a problem to your computer. In actuallity if you haven't used a cleaning program you will be suprised on how much room you can find using that program.
