Computer problems?

I hold Windows XP. I downloaded new scanner software for my printer because I kept getting the message "no scan options". (It's an HP PSC 1610 all-in-one.) But when I downloaded it and tried to unfurl the file, I get this message: "Forbidden: You don't have authority to access"
What does this mean and is near any way to return with my scanner to work?? I'm so confused! :-)

Answer:
This driver installation will change your registry, so you want to have Administrative Rights to install it. It sounds similar to you are logged into Windows as a Limited user. You will need to know the administrator password setup when Windows be installed and use it to log is as administrator, or if there are other users on this system, log contained by with a user first name that has Admin Rights.
Contact HP to bring back them to send you the correct driver for this scanner. otherwise you requirement to override your file deposit, but i don't recommend this.
Try to log on PS like administrator. If not, probably your system is dilapidated
