Windows installer error?

i cant install my scanner,everytime i try i catch this message "class installer denies the request to install or upgrade this device" my os is xp home with. service pack 2. i enjoy a printer and camera that all wrk fine but can not go and get passed this problem.

try updating the windows installer engine go through the microsoft website for an update.
Make sure the device is unplugged.
Get the latest drivers from the manufacturer website and then try to install them.
Only connect the device when the drivers are contained by or if instructed during installation.
You should be logged on as an Administrator firstly. Has the scanner been installed previously? If so you will inevitability to remove the software and then try the reinstall.

If the scanner have not been installed previously, most of the information I have found on this seem to point to a virus infection. Check to make sure your virus software is up-to-date.
