I checked the cords~~still am have trouble...?

near my hp scanjet 2200c scanner. When I scan a picture then accumulate it the computer did a report error. Then I reopened the scanner up and a box comes up saying scanner not found. It is within the programs. How do I get within the device manager...it is not at hand. Does it need to be here for the computer to iniatialize it?

u may need to reinstall the driver if its missing from device negotiator ...
go to hp's website and look to see if you own the latest edition of software and drivers before you do anything else.
Reinstall the software that come with the scanner.

did yo try "add current hardware" from the control panel? do that and install it manually, it may help.
HP Scanners are picky more or less their drivers and how you install them. You should be able to download the driver from the HP website, but don't freshly run the installer. Uninstall the old driver (use any add/remove programs or add/remove hardware, or maybe both -- it's be a while since I did this), then disconnect the USB cable from the computer, later restart the computer, then run the installation, single plugging in the USB cable when prompted to do so.
THE SCANNER NEED TO BE IN THE DEVICE MANAGER TO WORK AND IF IT IS WINDOWS XP IT SHOULD HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED IF NOT U NEED TO GO AND INSTALL IT WITH THE SOFTWARE U HAVE IF DONT HAVE IT GO TO HP'S WEBSIT AND LOOK FOR SUPPORT AND DRIVERS GET IT FROM THEM
