My 9 year ancient asks " How do printers print pink?"?
Answer:
The paper is white. The printer created severely small red dots combined the white surrounding the dots looks pink from a distance. Try printing different colors on white and colored papers (try blue, red, yellow, black paper) and compare.
Also look at a color picture within a newspaper or magazine below a magnifying cup or microscope. It is made up of dots of only 3-4 colors.

Printers will normally own 3 colours and then black. The colours are Magenta(purple), Cyan(light blue) and Yellow. To grasp pink it would probably be Magenta and Yellow although it mixes all colour to gain the right shade. I don't make printers so not 100% sure but it's a start to your answers. Hope it help lol
Printers use the CMYK colour model (Cyan, magenta, yellow, and push button < also known as black!).
The colour pink comes in the main from the magenta - by adding wan , black and cyan you can create various shades / tones of pink.

Colour printing uses cyan, magenta, wan and black inks. To get pink, a mix of magenta and wan are used. The lighter the pink, the smaller the proportion of the magenta/yellow mix is used against the white of the paper.
For instance for a milieu pink, 50% magenta 27% yellow is used as anti a lighter pink with 27% magenta and 12% pale.
Simplified answer: it prints fewer dots of red so the white of the page mixes near the red. Print out some pink and look at it under a magnify glass.
The slightly more complicated answer is that the printer can merely print cyan, magenta, yellow and black dots. Magenta is *really* pink to start next to, but for a slightly redder pink it adds some pallid dots into the mix.
