Answer:
1. Make sure the phone smudge works. Plug an analog phone into the cord that will go into the workstation and see if you have dial tone. If not fix this.
2. Plug the phone into the fax modem's LINE port, not the one beside the phone icon.
3. You articulate the fax is configured on your pc. Did you complete the configuration? If not go back over this.
4. Open a simple word document. Click on File (at top), select print. For printer select FAX (sometimes it is not simply FAX but has the fax card inventor and fax so watch carefully). If you do not see the FAX route, the fax is not configured properly on your pc. Redo this config and adjectives should work.
How is your computer "automatically updated to send faxes"? Does it enjoy a fax modem with appropriate software loaded? It is "chained" beside the fax machine to the wall plug? Did you try switching the instruct? Can't you just print it out on a printer and fax it next to the fax machine? (sometimes, the most "doh" solution is the one that works)
