An epson stylus 3000 have not be used for 18months .The print guality is very soon poor.What can I do?

That is a adjectives problem for Epson Printers because their print heads are surrounded by the cradle.
The print heads (the nozzles where on earth ink comes out) gets blocked by dust or by dried residual ink. This is a result of a long time of disinterest. Printouts usually have horizontal blank lines contained by them.
Try initiating a nozzlle/print head cleaning. This will shoot ink out of the nozzles to clear it of any blockage. You may enjoy to try this several times until the print quality is well brought-up. This procedure though uses lots of ink.
The print head is probably full of gunk..dried out ink. remove it and obligingly run some warm sea over it till it looks clean and after carefully dry near a paper towel..reinstal and print a few page and see if that sorts the problem out..otherwise you may need to purchase a fresh tape...should sort it out..

someone suggested taking out the print lead carriage. this is not other an easy entity to do, so you might try this instead:
take out the cartridges. after, with qtips dipped contained by rubbing alcohol, clean respectively of the printhead cones (one for each colour, inside the cradle) until your qtips start coming out honestly clean of ink. afterwards put the carts final in and try to print something.
this may thieve some patience and time, but it should clear out the clogs.
