The plates are the actual metal sheets onto which the text or pictures are transfered. Printing ink is applied to them, it just sticks to the design, and then quality newspaper is pressed to the plate, transfering the design to the paper. Usually, solely one plate is used per color, which is why its cheaper to print in a short time ago black and white with I don`t know a "spot color" (when there is simply one specific color other than black). They be the ancient style of printing before desk shot, laser jet, silk screening etc. It consists of individual packages that get squeezed together to engineer up what they call a plate.
Is it an entry even job? If so they will communicate you what they are (sorry, I don't have any impression!) if not you're probably looking at the wrong charge for you
Ciaobella is right, Printer Plates are not something normally used at home organization. It is term which is used within Pinting Press.
But hope the compay will advise you past you start working with printing plates and electrical device, but be careful the Printing piece of equipment are realy dangerous work next to care and you will be close to drunk ppl all the hours of daylight, cause of smell of liquid you use there. Always use a Mask working contained by a press.
