How to clear choked hp printer Cartridges?

I don't hold experience with HP inkjet printers but I hold an Epson printer that gets clogged cartridges. I usually try the ordinary cleaning routine a couple of times, where the print whirr and buzzes, and attempts to clean the tape. If this does not work, I take the videotape out and smack it sharply nozzle side down on a piece of scrap composition. It leaves some ink spots, so be sure you do this on scrap broadsheet.
If I have a clogged videotape, this smacking technique has other succeeded in making the videotape work again.
To r_moulon: Yes, I definitely do smack them on a piece of fragment paper and it unambiguously does work for my Epson cartridges.
Look in your instruction book on how to verbs the places where the ink comes out. If you don't own a book, take the videotape out. Get a little sponge makeup applicator contained by the make up dept of Wal-Mart or a dept. store. These are tiny sponge things that are attached to a plastic knob. They are used to put eye shadow and other make up on beside. You could use a Q-tip, but it could leave little strands of the cotton on the videotape.
Dip the applicator in alcohol, and vastly gently verbs the places where the ink comes out.of the videotape. Let the alcohol dry thoroughly before you put it stern in the printer. On my HP, in attendance is a way for the printer to verbs the heads, but if you don't own that, use the applicator method. Hope this helps!
You can also remove the cartridges and verbs them with a slightly moist tissue.
To prevent the problem, use the printer more habitually and/or run the cleaning cycle daily. Some machines, approaching my Brother, run it automatically a couple times a day. Also, will your printer powered up all the time. The grill helps hold the ink from drying in the nozzles (a little).

DO NOT USE ALCOHOL AS INSTRUCTED BY ANOTHER HERE. The ink is hose soluable. Fold a paper towel up and moisten it near water (damp but not dripping) Place or support the cartidge beside the nozzle in contact near the damp quality newspaper towel. Let stand on the paper towel for 10 to 15 minutes as the river attempts to break up the dried ink. You will see a little wicking of ink but that should be near. After waiting pick the cartidge up and just touch it to a verbs spot of the paper towel. You should see 2 black short lines if black or 3 lines (1 respectively color) on color cartidges. If you don't try repeating the process. When you are finished, reinstall and print a page or try running a cleaning utility (part of the print driver) to clear any remaining blockage. When not using for an extended time, always turn your printer stale by the power button on the machine not a power strip as it allows the contraption to move the ink cartidges to the cleaning station and cap them preventing drying.
