Is at hand an adapter to rework a non-USB printer into a USB printer?

I hold a deskjet 600C printer, and am probably getting an Inspiron 1501 laptop. This laptop is not compatible w/ a non-USB printer. I am wondering if there is an adapter I could use to metamorphose this printer into a USB printer??
