I own a dell dimension 2400- Printers i connect to it, wont detect it, but devices will detect it.?

I already tried to system restore, i tried installing the software bunch of times. Its odd because when i connect an ipod the computer does detect it. but when the printer is connected, it says that it can't find a priner. it seem to me that someting in the hardware settings is messed up. ok very well thanks for you facilitate.

Do you have the printer's driver disc? If you do try installing form it. Or you can search the Internet for the most appropriate driver.
of this is what you do. stir to dell.com and find the drivers for the printer. install them and make sure your usb hub be the printer is in isint disabled. for that step to my computer and right click on it and go to device commissioner. i dont know were is is on the top of my go before so you might have to look for it. anyway look at your usb hubs and see if its disabled.
