Can anyone recommend a worthy, cheap Mac printer?

If all you want to do is black printing, you do not want to purchase an inkjet printer. You will squirrel away a lot of money contained by the long run if you purchase a monochrome (black only) laser printer. The bad point about inkjet printers is that if you don't use the color in the order of once a week, the printhead will dry up and your printer will be rendered useless. A laser printer cannot possible dry up since it doesn't use ink, but instead uses toner. Laser printers melt the toner onto the page and thus give darker black descriptions than inkjets could ever hope to attain.
As far as printing costs go, an inkjet tape will cost you around $25 and will print you about 400 page. A laserjet toner cartridge will cost you almost $70, but will print 2,500 pages. In other words:
To print 2,500 page with an inkjet printer, you salary $150.
To print 2,500 pages beside a laser printer, you pay $70.
If you truly one and only want black printing, go beside the monochrome laser printer. Laser printers are built for heavy use and will ending you several years. You mentioned that you want a Mac-compatible printer for black-only printing. The HP 1022 is the best printer for you. It supports Windows and Mac, prints only black, and is calmness, fast, and reliable. True, it costs $199, but you will definately be in good spirits with this device. Don't be suckered into buying a cheap printer only to find yourself replacing the cartridges constantly. This printer is great. Seriously, look into it. I've included a association.
