Color Fax Machine, can we set it not to obligation the color tape?
We have a HP 1240 color/b/w fax but we don't inevitability to use color and now the contrivance doesn't want to work because the color cartridge is dried-up, I suspect.
Do I own to purchase a new color videotape, the b/w doesn't fit in that slot...
Tks!
Answer:
HP 1240 Fax does not support Reserve mode printing.
Reserve mode printing is a point that is available on few models of printers/fax machines where on earth the printer can work if either of the cartridges runs out of ink.
The Cartridge slots are of different size for Black and Color. Do not try to insert a Black tape into the Color cartridge slot, it may break the videotape carriage and your fax domestic device will go useless.
Install a Color videotape as there is no other solution miserably!!!
If it is an inkjet, yes you have to purchase another color tape. Even though you are printing in black and white, your printer is still using some of the color videotape. It does this to keep the videotape head verbs and clear. If there is no color ink, it probably won't print.
steal out the cartrage , set it on a damp quality newspaper for a few minets maybe a hour it will free up the ink ,, and alow it to work agien ,,,but if that dose not work youll probily own to get more ink i suggest that surrounded by the time to come after print with the coler once surrounded by a whial just to keep hold of it free
