If you refill the cartidge yourself or you don't know who did then the chip may not hold been reset. These (and HP) cartridges enjoy a chip that needs to be cleared on a restock cartridge or they still register as one empty even when refill.

You'll just own to buy the proper Epson ones and not refilled ones. those reconditioned cartridges can really overexploit your printer.
did you pull the cassette off the bottom of the videotape?
