If the factory owner set it up to print that page when you replace a cartridge it'll be within for a good drive.
On inkjets you need to "prime" the system and printing a page can work find to do this, it's also a testing to check it installed properly.
If you want to know how to turn it off , read the printer booklet to see if you can (Manual is prob on CD it come with)
Alternatively call the manufacturer support line.
Co one can describe you HOW to turn it off, as you totally go amiss to mention the make and model of printer . . . kinda vital detail to forget.

I had a similiar problem next to the printer I had..I tried everything..I finally took it backbone and traded it in on another one..It be real tentative, but it was inexact..How old is yours?..Try unplugging it and starting over..Good luck
