HP Color Printer Ignores Big Print Jobs. Help!?

We enjoy an HP LaserJet 5550 Color Printer and for some reason it's ignore print requests on files with massive filesizes. We're trying to print business cards from a document that is around 5MB and the printer of late ignores the request.

We have our technical support look at it and he said the printer won't print life-size filesizes. What kind of commercial printer doesn't print hulking filesizes??

Is there something wrong next to the printer? Should it be able to switch big filesizes?

Thanks!

Answer:
The printer may not have hulking enough memory. Increasing the size of the onboard memory may fix this problem. Breaking the document up into smaller parts may also fix it.
Check to see what the maximum DPI setting is for the printer by going into it's properties setup, if the document exceeds this, afterwards lower the DPI and try printing again.
If the printer memory is too small, the file size may grounds an overload, or the printer simply rejects it as it cannot fit in memory.

Easiest style to see if this is the problem is to buy extra memory, install and test. If that does not work you can other return the memory.

Finally, you have a tech guy who does not read printers. Why not call HP tech support in the region of it? They should know!
