You dont involve special software, just your canon software. It can be downloaded for free from their website
Cannon does not propose any XP drivers for this printer. so it may not be compatible with an XP operating system.
You should know how to find some very inexpensive printers to replace this one at possibly any of the bureau supply stores, Best Buy or CompUSA that will be compatible.
