Can i use a simple usb bluetooth adapter on my canon pixma printer instead of canon bluetooth bu20?

The answer is No.

The reason is those are for use on a computer, not on a printer. In certainty, most places lists BU-20 as a "printer server", not a mere Bluetooth adapter.
