HP laptop Pavilion. 512 memory. I own tried to install a printer (5 within 5 weeks) and download from disc stops

The software download from the disc stops in the middle thru the download leaving no installation. I enjoy 46 processess running under my Task Manager totaling 312M Commit Charge. Would the amount of running processes effect the download? If so, which processes should I NOT pause to attempt another download?

Are you downloading the software or installing it from a disk? If you are downloading, try doing so from a different web browser. I don't have a sneaking suspicion that the processess would mess up your download/installation...512MB RAM is plenty of memory for 46 processess. If you are installing it from a disk, the cable that is connected to the printer may be shot. Try buying a alien sync cable for the printer and see if that works.
