Printer printing page of chaotic characters?

I own an HP DeskJet 840C and when i turn it on it spits out pages of messy characters. I have tryed reinstallin the drivers but it didnt work..any philosophy how to fix this problem?

Answer:
Re start your computer and then try again.
It's spitting out page of random characters because you're sending postscript background to your HP DeskJet when it doesn't support postscript. Use a driver that doesn't send postscript to the printer and you'll seize the print out you want. Until then, basically take out the broadsheet till the job times out.
I had/ own this problem sometimes. like it would occur if i was printing something and consequently i didn't have anymore serious newspaper but it still wanted to print, so the little red button would run on. and then the little changeable symbols and characters would come out. To get it to stop you of late have to agree to it keep printing, and it eventually will. If you don't want to leftovers paper though-- hold putting the same composition back surrounded by after it is used while u r still printing and make sure u do not run out of newspaper when you are trying to get rid of the symbols by printing them . I hope this help.. and made sense. lol
this is a hardware cable and tray problem.
contact your hardware vendor to procure it fixed.
might cost u a couple of dolars.
but would get fixed
