MY Computer freezes when i Plug my Printer surrounded by?

I get a new printer a HP deskjet 5740. It works on my other computers but when i plug it into this computer the computer freezes and make a beeeeeep sound. Whats wrong next to it? Please help!

this usually occur when your computer cannot support the hardware or software of the device. Your driver may also need updated. That happen with my disc drive once. Whenever I would try to use the CD drive, my computer would freeze up.

is it a USB printer ? if so, are there too heaps USB devices connected to this PC? try unplugging some USB devices then plug within your printer, and check what happens.
If your computer is out of action properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
