KIP 3000, Xerox 6204 or Ricoh 240?

I am contained by this field since 1997. I be in Xerox for that time 8830 Printer controlled team. Considering adjectives the features, usefulness, operation comfortness in my assessment the following are the order of choice -
1. Xerox 8830
2. Oce TDS 320
3. Xerox 6204
4. KIP 3000
5. Ricoh 240
The Ricoh 240W have been on the flea market the longest and has a proven track copy of success. Ricoh have 43% market share surrounded by the 4ppm class (D size.) Xerox has a 21% share and Kip have 12% share. ** Ricoh also earned the BERTL Five star rating as exceptional, which is their utmost rating.
Anyway, things to consider would be is this for a copy only application? Or copy/plot? Or copy/plot/scan?
Without getting unadulterated technical, the Xerox and Kip part scan differently from the Ricoh. Ricoh can scan directly to file. Kip and Xerox require you to scan to a mailbox, which is within the copier itself. Then, you must go to your laptop and "retrieve" the file from the mailbox, do a file/save and later you re-name it. That is a lot of steps if scan is a consideration.
KIP and Xerox use an embedded printer controller; the Ricoh requires a staunch pc to run its plotting / scan software. Most dealers will provide the notebook for you or you can use your own. It must use Windows XP pro or 2000 pro. The Ricoh has a system that allows you to reprint/ resize elder documents from the server without have to go posterior to a workstation, which is nice. Re-printing from Xerox is not possible except for the later page printed. Kip requires you to go backbone to the work station also to print again.
Kip has a sexy touch-screen to copy from which is nice. The Xerox blind is complicated and has masses "hidden" drill down menus; for example it is nine steps just to sort multiple page. The Ricoh is push buttons, but the options are adjectives right in front of you so it is the easiest for copy mode solitary.
Paper loading on the ricoh machine is peerless in that you don't hold the 40" rod that goes through the weekly. It uses simple end-caps that are easily changed out. The others require you to close to up the end of the newspaper roll on the rod to 36", 30", etc. So, if you aren't exactly right, your copies come out shifted somewhat.
I would rate them: Ricoh first, KIP second and Xerox third. Actually, I would buy an Oce TDS 320 before I considered the Xerox.
