I own a lexmark x3480 and it keep displaying "cover open" - the cover is closed- any suggestions?

Not sure but try this cooperation for support.
it sounds like your cover may be worn out and so the lug that trips the cover open switch is not individual turned off when you close the cover.
any that or the switch is faulty.
any way you involve to contact lexmark for support and or replacement.
or your cover may appear closed but is still open ample to trip the switch to the "cover open" position.
if you do not want to contact lexmark support then you can other (not recommended) find something to trip the switch to off and cartridge it in place. and remove it when you do obligation to replace ink for example.
