Can you substitute a diferent brand ink cartriage for a Dell laser printer?

I own a Dell All in One Laser Printer 922, I necessitate both a black and a color ink cartriage, just wondering if in that is a different brand of ink that I can actually pick up at the store that will fit my printer so I dont other have to charge on line.
