That depends on what you are doing beside the printer. If you are going to do photo printing then I can fathom out how it is costing a small fortune in ink. Photo Printers do that. If you are printing deeply of black text later a laser printer would be best for you, toner can run about $60~$100 but the toner surrounded by a laser printer will last you five or six months of somewhat cloying use before you call for to replace it.
If you want a general adjectives purpose printer then an all-in-one might be best, for muted printing only and really, no photo printing at adjectives. I do light printing, copying and scan and have found the Lexmark X2350 to imbue that role famously. If you are using Windows Vista you will have to step up to the Lexmark X2450 as it is Vista compatible though near a little work I get my X2350 working under Vista.

If you print a lot (which it sounds resembling you do) and it doesn't have to be color, consider a lazer printer.
It uses toner and not ink cartridges that ultimate so much longer.
You could possibly even keep both on your computer that instrument if you want a color printer you still have it.
I use the Epson r200 printer . yours is roughly speaking the second generation up from this. A set of Epson inks is more than the cost of a bright printer. Look for compatible cartridges. There's loads of sellers. can bring back a set for about lb10
look on Ebay . I bought a continuous ink system (CIS) and this keep the costs down as I do a lot of Photo s. Also hold on to an eye out in the shops for two for ones on photo broadsheet. Ebay again for cheaper photo paper. Cheapest widespread muck about dissertation try Asda. Less than lb2 per ream.
ouch. the espson site actually say these carts are in the region of 7 pounds a piece, which is about 14usd respectively. that's not *bad*, but it's not super either. considering how tentative this printer is, compatibles may not be available yet, and if they are, they may not be much cheaper.
i know you can't reload them too well but (they have a investigational type of chip in them), but once someone is competent to, i'd totally go near refills sooner. bound to be cheaper, but i'd also say the inks and up to date chips may not be ready for a year or longer (from experience).
for price of ink, canon is the best on the marketplace right now. i don't know what benevolent of work you are doing with your printer, but canon and epson are the leaders within photo-quality printing, so if you're doing photos you've got a darn fitting product already, and it would only be the price of ink that would be the big break.
lexmark and hp may be cheaper, but their talent is not as good, roughly speaking. hp did just release a smudge of printers with 6 separate ink cartridges that seem to be decent and the ink is not super-expensive over here. i haven't be able to testing them out yet as per photo standard though.
