I'm am buying a 42" widescreen HDTV to run my PC through. The put somebody through the mill is...Plasma or LCD?
Answers:
LCD hand down. Granted Plasma will give you better point, but really it is not worth the price difference. I would just walk with the LCD. Then you enjoy a 42" LCD Monitor for your computer. Awesome gaming experience there!
LCD! - almost certainly
Plasma will be higher element, but the bulbs burn out quick if you use it for copious hours at one time. LCD will last 40,000 hours on one bulb.
Plasma looks bearing better, but LCD will last style longer. Just be sure to get an LCD that can do 1080p, you'll be much happier that approach.
LCD. Many plasma displays still suffer burn-in if the same illustrative is displayed for extremely long periods of time. The window start bar, linux stick and macOS bar would adjectives burn in over long time use.
LCD also have a longer life span and if you take one with vga and dvi inputs as very well as high resolution it'll be a great bet.
You could lately wait for OLED... those will be some lovely displays... if they ever come.
I'd shift LCD, plasma's are to touchy, if you bumb it or set it down to hard...you're screwed.
If your within a room with alot of table lamp go LCD.
If you won't element and like wating money progress plasma.
Make sure you have an HD box to
The more prominent question is resolution. You really want a 1920x1080 TV (1080p). Most plasma TVs are 720p and own a resolution somewhere in the neighborhood of 1280x720. That is going on for half the pixels. Remember, pixels equal better detail.
Plasma is nice for rich colors. However, if you play one and the same game seriously, like WoW, after some of the static areas will burn.
LCDs are nice for crisp pictures. However, the color is less vibrant.
As a side write down, I got a 37" LCD 1080p TV and set it up as a monitor. That last about an hour formerly I put it back as a TV. It is a unexpected sensation to have to keep hold of moving your head around to look at the peak. Also, flat panel TVs put off deeply of heat. I would see if the 42" is going to be too big or if you can set it final from your face earlier I would use it as a monitor.
Good luck.
