Don't worry, it have nothing to do near your video card. It does have something to do beside your OS, Windows XP. This problem requires registry editing which we recommend you don't do. There is a "user policy" being implement in the registry. Goto run > type regedit + enter

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mi...

and or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mic...
i doubt seriously its the videocard ... it may be the focus ur using .. but look somewhere other than the videocard itself ..
i would right click my desktop, choosing properties, later selecting the desktop tab, choose my picture i considered necessary or click the broswe button under desktop tab consequently select my picture from somewhere on my computer, click apply, click ok. your picture should now be changed.
you can also right click an photograph on the internet choosing set as background for it to conveyance wallpaper pic, doing this may cause you to enjoy to center, tile, or stretch image for it to work correctly, if it isn't the correct size.
for your video card going impossible i highly doubt that. i would call on http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/tec... see if they have any driver updates for your computer, that you preference to install or think you necessitate.
