Old prevalent frames?

ok i be might find a old prevalent frame ibm 360 or 370 for realy cheap i need one to run unix and how rugged is it to set one up and yes i have cheched eaby

I can’t talk about Unix working on IBM 360/370 but it was used on compatible Amdahl systems.

I wouldn't chew over you've got a snowball surrounded by hells chance of finding one and even if you did you'd spend more time maintain it than using it. Try looking for a used Sun Workstation (SPARCstation) you might have somewhat more success.
I don't know why those family told you to get a IBM 360 or 370 run Unix. You can run Solaris on the PC.
Why do you requirement a mainframe?

You would probably get more CPU power out of high end PC, nevermind an AIX or workstation. Most things can run some sort of UNIX.

I thought at most mainrames be rented. So if you want to get hold of one you would call for to contact IBM, but I suspect that they scrap the feeble stuff.
