I use putty, xterm, dtterm and abundant more telnet, ssh terminals, but I other wonder which are the best color schemes to allow the eyes to rest. I know here are issues with contrast, font size and color to be considered, but would similar to to have an informed belief on the matter.

i close to a black background near lime green text. It have that sort of 1970s mono crt feel to it.
