Should i buy a Tracfone?

For emergencies simply...then it's fine. If you are going to use it for more than that, later get a apt plan elsewhere. I have one I use one and only for emergencies. I usually bring back their 'one-year' card and it breaks down to about $8 /month.
I use the Alltel prepaid wireless. It's in the order of 15Cents a minute. You don't have to purchase alien minutes every month, only when you want them. It may cost more than tracfone but the reception and area coverage is excellent not to mention self able to stir online to buy time or get service. I use mine just for emergencies and short call.
